Pushpa Ramesh was always fascinated with Art from childhood. She started learning painting & drawing from the age of 13, through private classes & later went on to choose painting as one of her subjects in graduation. During her college days in India, she also exhibited her paintings in art fair at “Bharat Bhavan”, Bhopal (a premier museum in India) in 1991 along with participation in “Potters Meet & Workshop” organized at “Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya” Bhopal in 1993.
Though she has dabbled in various media, ceramics and abstract painting became her areas of passion. She mastered the art of wheel based ceramic pottery under the able guidance of Mr. Wissam Al Haddad a well known ceramic artist from Iraq. Mr. Muntasir Sharief, a sudanese artist based in Holland, introduced her to the world of abstract paintings and guided her in her initial works.
She has participated in many group exhibitions on paintings, sculpture and ceramic art in the Sharjah Art Institute. She has also held two solo exhibitions in ceramic pottery in Sharjah.
She is currently based in Sharjah. Her work also involves corporate and individual commissioning orders. She is currently incorporating calligraphy into her paintings.
